What services do you provide? We
provide financial planning and asset management services.
What are your
professional certifications? Jack Johnson is a Certified Financial PlannerTM and CPA.
Do you offer a free initial
consultation? Yes. We offer a free one hour consultation.
What is your fee structure? We
charge clients on an hourly basis.
Typically this fee structure will be less than the industry standard of
a percent of assets under management. We receive no compensation from any of
the investments we recommend. We do not sell any commissioned base
products.
Can you help me with my 401k? We
can review the investment choices from a 401k plan and make recommendations
based on the client’s overall asset allocation.
Why do I need a financial plan? A
typical person may spend 25% to 30% of their life in retirement. This means they have to manage their investments
and withdrawals wisely or face the risk of running out of money before they run
out of life—not a pretty picture. A
financial plan acts as roadmap for a
person’s financial future. This roadmap helps
a person understand how to invest and how much to save in order to reach their
financial goals and objectives.
Why do I need someone to
manage my investments? People
are time constrained and cannot put in the necessary effort to maintain a globally
diversified portfolio. Often investment
accounts (including 401ks and IRAs) are scattered throughout many brokerages,
banks, employers, etc. No consolidated
reporting is provided and therefore the person does not have an accurate
picture of their total portfolio. A
managed account has the advantages of consolidated reporting, consistent asset
allocation, periodic rebalancing and utilization of low cost index based
investments.
Do you take possession of my
funds? No.
All client funds are maintained by Fidelity Investments. Clients have total access to their funds at
all times.
Do you have a minimum account
balance? No. Our minimum quarterly charge based on our
hourly rate is $1,000.
Can you trade my account
without my permission? No. We place no trades without the client’s prior
permission.
How often do I receive
reports? Clients
receive quarterly portfolio reports.
Reports include performance with IRR, benchmark comparison, rebalancing,
asset allocation and narrative comments.
In addition, clients receive monthly brokerage statements from Fidelity
Investments.
How often do you meet with
clients? We
meet with all clients in person an annual basis. Additional meetings as scheduled as
necessary.
Are references available? Yes.
A prospective client may speak to a current client prior to engaging our
firm.
